Korean Air Resumes Multiple Routes to China and Japan After Three-Year Hiatus
Korean Air is delighted to announce the resumption of several routes to China and Japan that had been on hold for over three years. Travelers can now look forward to convenient flights to popular destinations such as Changsha, Wuhan, Weihai, Fukuoka, and Nagoya.
The Seoul Incheon-Changsha route has already resumed operations, offering five weekly flights since 19th July. Furthermore, passengers can anticipate the Seoul Incheon-Wuhan and Seoul Incheon-Weihai routes to be operational again from 24th September and 27th September, respectively.
Starting from 27th September, the SkyTeam carrier will also reinstate its Busan-Fukuoka and Busan-Nagoya routes. With two daily flights to Fukuoka and daily flights to Nagoya from Busan, travelers will have ample options to plan their trips conveniently.
Korean Air will be operating these routes using the Boeing 737-900ER, a reliable aircraft with a capacity of 173 passengers, ensuring a comfortable journey for all.
Notably, the resumption of these routes departing from Busan serves another purpose: it demonstrates Korean Air’s commitment to supporting the Korean government’s bid for hosting the World Expo 2030 in Busan.
Additionally, Korean Air is proactively expanding its international flight operations to cater to the rising demand for international travel. This includes increasing flight frequencies and reinstating flights on its extensive global network, which started earlier this month.
As of July 2023, Korean Air has impressively achieved approximately 82 percent of its pre-pandemic levels in 2019 regarding available seat kilometer (ASK) capacity.
In July, the airline implemented notable frequency increases on several routes to better serve passengers in different regions:
In the North American region:
- Seoul Incheon-Chicago: Flights increased from 5 to 7 times per week.
- Seoul Incheon-Dallas: Flights increased from 4 to 5 times per week.
- Seoul Incheon-San Francisco: Flights increased from 7 to 9 times per week.
In Europe:
- Incheon-Frankfurt: Flights increased from 5 to 7 times per week.
- Incheon-Milan: Flights increased from 3 to 4 times per week.
Furthermore, Korean Air is enhancing its services on routes to Ulaanbaatar, Sapporo, and Bali:
- Seoul Incheon-Ulaanbaatar: Frequency increased from 7 to 8 times a week in July, with services expanding to 10 weekly flights in August.
- Seoul Incheon-Sapporo: Flights increased from 7 to 11 times a week earlier this month.
- Seoul Incheon-Bali: Flights will increase from 9 to 11 times a week by the end of August, with additional flights on Fridays and Saturdays.
