Nami Island or Namiseom Island is a half-moon-shaped island located close to Seoul. Nami Island is 63 km away from Seoul in the direction of Chuncheon and is known for its gorgeous tree-lined roads. The island is just 30 minutes from Chuncheon and one hour from the suburbs in Seoul. Because it is not too far from Seoul numerous families and couples visit the island. The unique thing about Nami Island is the absence of telephone poles. This is because all electrical wires were buried underground in order to preserve the natural look of the land. The island has a total area of 553,560 square feet with poplar trees and chestnut trees all over. The island also features an aquatic pool, as well as facilities for motorboats as well as water skiing, and an amusement park that includes a merry-go-round and roller skating arena.
